Five-term Lino Lakes mayor John Bergeson was defeated convincingly by council member Jeff Reinert in a three-way race for mayor. Connie Sutherland was third in the voting Tuesday, Nov. 3.
Reinert polled 1867 votes to 1296 for Bergeson and 894 to Sutherland. Twelve writein votes were also recorded.
In the race for city council incumbent Jeffrey O'Donnell and newcomer Rob Rafferty were elected to two open seats. O'Donnell drew 1852 votes and Rafferty had 1565 to be the top vote getters. Other candidates drawing votes were: Dave Roeser, 1170; Kevin Stanton, 713; Byron Roland, 620 and write-in, 141.
There were two Centennial School District referendum issues on the ballot, first question renewed operating levy and was passed by a vote of 3767-3193 vote. The second question was to approve an additional revenue authorization. The question failed by a vote of 4045-2906.
