Meeting on Highway 10 changes in Anoka set for Sept. 29

The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to attend an open house and public hearing regarding a proposed project to convert Highway 10 from an expressway to a freeway between the western city limits of Anoka to the west side of the Main Street interchange.

Roseville, MN – The Minnesota Department of Transportation invites the public to attend an open house and public hearing regarding a proposed project to convert Highway 10 from an expressway to a freeway between the western city limits of Anoka to the west side of the Main Street interchange.

The proposed project also includes right-of-way acquisition, when  funding becomes available; however that construction is currently not planned.

The open house and public hearing will be held on Tuesday, Sept. 29, from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Anoka City Hall, 2015 First Avenue North in Anoka. The event will provide an opportunity for citizens to learn about the proposed project, make comments, and ask questions. Officials from Mn/DOT, Anoka County and the city of Anoka will be available to answer questions.  There will be no formal presentation.

The Environmental Assessment documents state the purpose and need of the project along with the anticipated social, economic and environmental impacts.  Copies of the documents will be available for review during the open house and public hearing and also are available on the project Web site. Copies of the EA/EAW are available upon request in alternative formats to individuals with disabilities. The documents also are available for public viewing during business hours at the following locations:

●    Mn/DOT Metro District Offices, 1500 West County Road B2, Roseville
●    Anoka County Highway Department, 1440 Bunker Lake Boulevard, Andover
●    Rum River Library, 4201 6th Avenue, Anoka
●    Anoka City Hall, 2015 First Avenue North, Anoka

Written comments can be mailed, prior to the close of the public comment period on Wednesday, October 7, 2009, to Mark Lindeberg, Project Manager, Minnesota Department of Transportation, 1500 West County Road B-2, Roseville, MN 55113.
