Nation's top highway official to help break ground on TH-610

Federal Highway Administrator Victor Mendez will join other federal as well as state officials break ground on TH 610 extension Thursday, Sept. 3, at 9:30 a.m.

Washington, DC – Federal Highway Administrator Victor Mendez will join other federal as well as state officials break ground on TH 610 extension Thursday, Sept. 3, at 9:30 a.m.

The project, funded by the American Reinvestment and Recovery Act, will build three miles of new roadway to continue SH 610 from Highway 169 to County Road 81 in Hennepin County. Administrator Mendez will join  U.S. Senators Amy Klobuchar and  Al Franken, Congressman Erik Paulsen and Minnesota Department of Transportation Deputy Commissioner Khani Sahebjam.

Administrator Mendez will speak about the progress of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act in putting people to work and improving the nation's highways.

The event will be staged at the Zachary Park and Ride.
