St. Paul, MN -- Acclaimed Minnesota author and wildlife expert Carrol Henderson will
sign copies of the new edition of his book, Woodworking for Wildlife,
11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. Friday, Aug. 14, at Minnesota's Bookstore, 660 Olive
Street, in St. Paul.
The expanded, 164-page volume, available at Minnesota's Bookstore,
features new designs for great crested flycatchers, mergansers,
dippers, bumblebees and toads. The book includes plans for 28 nest box
projects, 300 color photographs and information about deterring nest
predators, placing and maintaining boxes and setting up remote cameras
in nest boxes.
Henderson, supervisor of the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources'
Nongame Wildlife Program since 1977, is the author of eight books,
including Landscaping for Wildlife, Wild About Birds: the DNR Feeding
Guide and Oology and Ralph's Talking Eggs.
