Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Minnesota named recent Elk River High School graduate Shannon Goerke  the 2009 Outstanding High School Big Sister.

The title was awarded for the 17-year-old's dedication to Jordan Dauphinais, her 10-year-old "Little” getting ready to start the sixth grade in fall 2009. See more in Star News feature story by Elizabeth Nelson.
