Ward 4 voters voted at the election precinct set up at ECM Publishers, 4095 Coon Rapids Blvd. The ward consists of precincts 2, 3 and 5 and counted 4789 registered voters when the polls opened at 7 a.m. Polls were open until 8 p.m. School district matters were the only items on the ballot. In Minneapolis voters were given the opportunity to use ranked-choice voting, a new method of filling municipal offices. Voters rank their first-, second- and third-choice candidates for each office.
