Washington, D.C. -- U.S. Rep. Michele Bachmann (MN-06) announced today (Wednesday, July 8) her appointment to serve as a member of the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute's Advisory Board.

"I am honored to be invited to serve on this bipartisan board and be part of their wonderful mission to promote adoption.  As a former foster mother to 23 children, I have experienced first hand many of the challenges foster children face. I look forward to this opportunity to combine my experience as a foster parent and my position as a lawmaker to ensure that these children find safe and loving homes,” said Bachmann.

The Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute is a nonprofit, nonpartisan organization that raises awareness about the needs of foster children and parents.

It works to educate federal policymakers, coordinate Congressional and community efforts to bring about change and facilitate opportunities for communication and public awareness.
