After paralysis, former Lakeville South football, lacrosse player remains positive, strives forward

Character traits built during Dillon Borowicz’s high school sports career are helping the Lakeville man through the toughest challenge he has ever faced.

It was 2012, the summer before Borowicz’s senior year at Lakeville South High School, when his dive into the family’s above-ground swimming pool forever changed his life.

The former lacrosse player and Lakeville South linebacker did not surface, and was pulled to the pool deck by his younger brother, Matthew Borowicz.

Doctors determined he had broken his neck and was paralyzed from the neck down.
