Farm buildings in Elk River conservation area must go

The city of Elk River is soliciting bids for the demolition and removal of the barns and outbuildings at the William H. Houlton Conservation Area, according to a press released issued on Oct. 5.

A farmhouse on the site has already been moved to Otsego in the early morning hours of Tuesday, Sept. 29, without many, including the Police Department, knowing about it, let alone any fanfare. It was supposed to be moved a week earlier, but the move got delayed.
