Caledonia Fire Chief Chuck Gavin is the type of guy who’d give you the shirt off his own back.

The long-time owner of Ken’s Small Engine and a 24 year member of the Caledonia Fire Department, Gavin is an unassuming man who willingly gives so much to others.

“He’s such a wonderful man,” Erica Jacobson said.

She and her husband, Kevin, along with many other volunteers are organizing a benefit for Gavin.

In 2014, after many months of exhaustive testing and doctor visits, Gavin was diagnosed with ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). Gavin received the diagnosis in the fall of 2014.
