Two-time breast cancer survivor from Brooklyn Park wins national contest

Brookdale Minnetonka resident assistant associate Dawn McGee-Jackson of Brooklyn Park has been through a lot in her life including being a two-time breast cancer survivor.
She has held up remarkably well.

Her coworkers at Brookdale Minnetonka took notice of all that she has been through and nominated herfor A Place for Mom’s Caregiver Getaway contest.

Tamra Lerum, Health and Wellness Director at Brookdale Minnetonka, wrote an essay about McGee-Jackson and why she deserved to be the winner of the contest.

“They capped the essay at 800 words, but I probably could have gone on for quite some time,” said Lerum.

McGee-Jackson is one of the favorites with the residents.
