Bayport BBQ to be featured on Food Network
The back of the T-shirts at Bayport BBQ carry the slogan, “We aren’t for everyone,” but host Guy Fieri of the Food Network’s “Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives” must think the place is something great.
The show, famous for featuring independent restaurants serving up comfort food, showed up in downtown Bayport to film an episode featuring the deep blues barbecue joint.
“Filming was very exciting for our family,” said owner Chris Johnson. “Guy was here on Thursday for several hours.”
The red car featured in the show was parked outside the restaurant, Johnson said, and got quite a bit of attention.
“They filmed our food and interviewed several customers,” Johnson said. “Then on Monday, they filmed all day and shot a great deal of food preparation and also more customer interviews.”
