First Blue Line meetings in Brooklyn Park draw crowd, new narrower design on display

The project leaders for the Metro Transit Blue Line Extension presented a significantly narrower design for the light rail trains, which could have lesser impact on neighboring property owners, at the March 5 community meeting on the plan to bring rail transit into Brooklyn Park.

Community members filled the grand hall room of the Center for Business Technology at North Hennepin Community College to capacity for the event. Another meeting is planned for March 19, when Blue Line planners will return with summaries of the community feedback and acknowledgement of the issues raised by citizens, according to Dan Soler, the project leader for the Blue Line Extension.
