Students, key stakeholders join Minnesota Senate higher education leadership on listening tours

NEWS RELEASE — St. Paul, MN – The Minnesota Senate #myMNdegree “Listening Tour” made stops at Minnesota Colleges and Universities, high schools, and workforce development centers during its first week on the road.

Committee Chair, Sen. Terri Bonoff, and Vice-Chair, Sen. Greg Clausen, hosted town hall events at Mesabi Community & Technical College, Vermillion Community College, University of Minnesota – Duluth, Lake Superior College, and Augsburg College.

“We’re hearing directly from students about the challenges they are having and ideas they have for shaping the future of higher education in Minnesota. There is no replacement to seeing these schools first-hand, and shaking the hands of the students and key stakeholders that are our future leaders.” said Sen. Bonoff.

The “Listening Events” are free and open to the public. Attendees are able to submit topics for discussion at the “listening event,” as well as improvement ideas in an online survey.
