Little Falls man accused of killing 2 teens is released on bail

Byron David Smith of Little Falls was released on $50,000 conditional bail this morning, about 10:30 a.m.

Smith’s attorney, Steve Meshbesher requested Smith’s bail be reduced from the $2 million unconditional and $1 million conditional to $200,000 bond ($20,000 cash) or $100,000 bond ($10,000 cash).

Assistant County Attorney Todd Kosovich argued during Monday’s hearing that the bail should not be lowered, but in fact, should be doubled, and recounted portions of the audio recordings of the shooting found during a search of Smith’s home.

Morrison County Judge Douglas Anderson set conditional bail at $500,000 bond or $50,000 cash. — Morrison County Record
