Ruegemer family and farm get Horizon’s HOPE award

Pete and Anita Ruegemer married in 1980 and were pleased when land became available

Pete and Anita Ruegemer raised seven children on their farm near Westport, homeschooling each of them.
Youngest son, Nathan, is the only one yet to graduate from high school. Son, Jeremy, and daughter, Sara, have joined their parents in the farming operation, although each of the kids helps out even while working off the farm.

for purchase in 1982, right across the road from the farm where Pete grew up north of Westport.

Anita was a city girl from St. Cloud who met Pete when they attended school together in Rockville.
