Nikko the snow monkey celebrates 29th birthday at Minnesota Zoo
“Nikko” the snow monkey celebrated his 29th birthday at the Minnesota Zoo on Sept. 27. He is thought to be the oldest living snow monkey in North America. Nikko was born in 1983 and arrived at the Minnesota Zoo in 2001. Treats and streamers marked the day as the rest of his troop celebrated the birthday. See photo slideshow by Rick Orndorf.
