Coon Rapids Lions club showcases projects at open house

Coon Rapids Lions Club’s third annual open house and pig roast at Lions Coon Creek Park recently had a two-fold purpose.

One was to thank the community for the support it has provided to the club for some 60 years and the other was to showcase the programs and projects in which the club is involved in an effort to bring in new members.

There were games and activities for children, giving them the opportunity to win prizes, and more than 200 free meals were served.

There were exhibits set up by a number of groups that are supported by the club, including Alexandra House, Camp Friendship, Cub Scout Pack 419 and Loaves and Fishes. See more in Editor Peter Bodley’s ABC Newspapers story.
