Southbound Highway 100 closes Aug. 25-27

Roseville, MN – Motorists will experience a closure and detour on southbound Highway 100 between Interstate 394 and Highway 62 as the roadway closes at 5 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 25.

During the closure, a posted detour will direct motorists to use westbound Highway I-394, southbound Highway 169 and eastbound Highway 62 to access southbound Highway 100.

The closure is needed for a full suite of area maintenance work, and the roadway is scheduled to reopen by 5 a.m. Monday, Aug. 27.

During the closure, Mn/DOT Maintenance crews will conduct a full complement of functions, including the inspection of all overhead bridges, performing of bridge deck repair on all Hwy 100 bridges spanning local roadways, performing of crack sealing and joint repairs, inspection and repair of expansion joints, mill and patch roadway segments, make signage repairs, refresh pavement markings, inspect and repair electrical systems, clearing and repair of drainage structures, repair guardrail, and sweeping roadways and removal of debris, foliage and weed growth where necessary.

The goal of this overall approach is to lessen the number of non-rush hour lane closures needed within this segment of roadway for the summer season and to be more efficient with the resources at Mn/DOT’s disposal. Work on northbound Highway 100 was completed Aug. 18-20.

The work is weather dependent and may be rescheduled in the case of inclement weather.
