A Lakeville school district levy referendum in 2013?

The Lakeville Area School District could pursue an operating levy referendum in 2013.

Over the past six years the district has made $21 million in budget adjustments. It might not end there.

According to Director of Business Services Mark Klett, “if the same assumptions were made for the next biennium that were used during the current, we could have another deficit of over $13 million for the biennium” of 2013-2015. See more in Aaron Vehling’s Sun Thisweek story.

One Response to A Lakeville school district levy referendum in 2013?

  1. Melissa says:

Maybe it’s time to look at alternative options, such as Charter Schools. My daughter is entering kindergarten and won’t even be attending the Lakeville Public Schools because she was accepted into a neighboring district Charter School. The fact that she has so many more opportunities starting right in kindergarten (Spanish, formal music and art programs, small class sizes) made it a very easy choice for us.
