Celebrate local history at Anoka’s Riverfest on Saturday, July 14

The Anoka County Historical Society will offer free admission to its galleries in the Anoka County History Center during Anoka’s Riverfest celebration Saturday, July 14 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Currently on exhibition are Safe for Democracy: A Closer Look Anoka County in World War I; Clothing the County: Fashion for Every Occasion; In Memoriam; and Tell Me a Story.

From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. visitors will also get the chance to dress up in historical costumes and have their portrait taken in the Philolectian Room. For a suggested donation of $5, a sepia toned image will be e-mailed to them to remember their day at Riverfest. See more in ABC Newspapers story.
