Lane restrictions under way on westbound I-94 in St. Paul

Roseville, MN – The westbound lanes of Interstate 94 are restricted to two lanes between Mounds Boulevard and the Highway 52/Interstate 35E interchange in St. Paul as work continues on the new Highway 52 Lafayette Bridges.

The lane closures began yesterday morning so crews can build new I-94 bridge piers to accommodate the new ramp from northbound Highway 52 to westbound I-94.

In addition, the ramp from Mounds Boulevard to westbound Interstate 94 will be closed and detoured.

The lanes and ramp are scheduled to reopen by Monday, July 16.

When completed by early 2015 the new Lafayette Bridges will provide two through-lanes and an auxiliary lane in each direction for entering and exiting traffic. The project also includes the modification and realignment of the Hwy 52 Bridges spanning I-94. A pedestrian and bicycle lane on the northbound bridge is included in the plan.
