Eagle Scout project plants windbreak at Sandquist Park in Cambridge

For his 2012 Eagle Scout Award community project, Grant Fauver of Isanti chose to get dirty with a tree-planting plan which creates a windbreak on the west border of the softball complex at Sandquist Family Park. His organizational efforts concluded with a work day on Saturday, June 2.

An initial order of seedlings from a foundation didn’t come through on time, but Fauver got his hands on 20 larger Black Hills spruce trees purchased from Wolcyn’s Tree Farm for the project. Fauver recruited family members and friends to help get the trees in the ground on the work day. See more in Greg Hunt’s Isanti County News story.
