Rogers wrestlers win St. Croix Invite; it’s first-ever tourney victory
The Rogers Royal wrestlers nabbed the first tournament championship in their program’s history on Saturday, racking up five individual titles in placing first among 10 teams at the St. Croix Lutheran Crusader Invitational.
“Going into the tournament, we knew we could place in the top three,” said coach Chris Donnay, “but to win the whole thing took all 12 guys.”
Kyler Swanson was named Most Valuable Wrestler in the tournament, winning the 138-pound title with an overtime decision in the finals, after getting a fall and decision to advance. See more in the Star News.
