Sound Off blog: Bachmann has eyes on bigger prizes than Sixth District
Sound Off by Don Heinzman – Since I was one of the first to suggest that U.S. Rep. Michelle Bachmann not run for re-election as the Sixth District Congresswoman, I feel good about joining the chorus of other leaders who feel the same way.
Let’s face it. Bachmann has her eyes on bigger prizes than re-election to the Sixth District. She’s following the Sarah Palin game plan of writing a book, giving speeches for big bucks and getting a program on Fox News.
You have to give her credit for making herself into a national celebrity by running for President of the United States when we all knew she’d never succeed. She’s attractive, verbal, and articulates her conservative views very well.
But she’s done little or nothing for the Sixth District she claims to represent. She’s an Iowan and has spent more time in Iowa than in the Sixth District in Minnesota. – DON HEINZMAN
