Sonya Ganz awaits a double lung transplant; long road began in 2009

Sonya Ganz of rural Sobieski has learned she needs a double lung transplant. She was diagnosed with pulmonary arterial hypertension in 2009. She has been tested at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, found she is a candidate and now waits for the call.

The long road to this point began in 2009, while she was working at Larson Boats in Little Falls.

“I began having shortness of breath. It was hard to do anything,” said Ganz. “I was sent to see heart specialists in St. Cloud and went through a battery of tests that included heart monitors, electrocardiogram (EKG)  and echocardiogram (ECHO) tests. Nothing was found.” See more in Tina Snell’s Morrison County Record story.
