Racino Now, the pro-racino group Sen. Dick Day, R-Owatonna, is leaving the Senate to join, announced a list of financial backers that includes Running Aces Harness Park, the harness track near Forest Lake in Columbus.
Other contributors include Minnesota Horsemen’s Benevolent & Protective Association, Minnesota Thoroughbred Association, and the Minnesota Quarter Horse Racing Association.
Canterbury Park is also a contributor.
Chris Johnson, Executive Director of Racino Now, explained that he did not know exactly how much money had been pledged from the horse and racing industry to Racino Now, and would not tell if he did.
As organized under law, Racino Now is not required to publish a list of donors and dollar amounts, he explained.
