Anoka County Board Chairman Berg views last session as productive

While people knew there would be “blood on the floor” because of state budget cuts, last legislative session was nonetheless a pretty good session, explained Anoka County Board Chairman Dennis Berg today (June 10).

Indeed, on a scale of one to ten, Berg graded the session a respectable “eight.”

A lot of good work went under the radar, said Berg. The chairman pointed to reforms in the Green Acres property tax equalization program as one session success.

As for the pending state budget unallotment, the quicker that’s accomplished the better, Berg said.

It will give local government more time to prepare for the cuts, he said.
