Rep. Tom Emmer "flattered" by attention
Rep. Tom Emmer, R-Delano, said he received six calls within 30 minutes yesterday — three from legislative colleagues, three from the public — concerning him running for governor.
Emmer said the focus on him in the wake of Gov. Tim Pawlenty’s decision not to seek a third term was flattering.
“I’d never say never,” he said about ruling out a possible run for governor.
Still, Emmer indicated that for the time being he just would watch the Republican gubernatorial field form.
He suggested that a better use of his time right now was to work to get a Republican majority again in the House.
