Senate District 16 Republican primary challenger's message — back off
Senate District 16 Republican candidate Alison Krueger — the primary election opponent of Rep. Mark Olson, R-Big Lake — recently sent a letter to the editor in which in part she tells Olson supporters to back off.
Krueger, a local political activist, charges in the letter that she has been on the receiving end of a “barrage” of certified letters, emails and phone calls from Olson supporters intent on intimidating her — asking her to publicly support Olson, endorsed by district Republicans, and meet other demands.
Asked by a reporter whether she regretted ever getting involved in the special election, Krueger indicated she didn’t.
“What saddens me is the inaccurate/misleading information that my name has gone through,” she said in an email.
“What needs to be spoken on is the issues at hand; Economy, Energy etc. In addition, voters want to know how their potential leader will represent, provide and protect their needs, concerns and wants,” she said.
“Voters are cynical of mud flinging competitions,” said Krueger.
“I hope that the letter (to the editor) will stifle the harassment – if not, well the Primary
is around the corner and there are other ways to ask them to stop,” emailed Krueger.
“There are good things too, so I will dwell on those,” she closed.
