Day files for the U.S. House

Sen. Dick Day, R-Owatonna, officially filed for the U.S. House for the 1st Congressional District.

The colorful former Senate Minority Leader filed today and could take on DFL Congressman Tim Walz, though Day lacks the Republican Party endorsement.

Republican Brian Davis, a physician from Rochester, has the official party stamp of approval.

Day, who worked 27 years as a salesman for IBM, had an impressive record as a boxer as a young man.
