Where’s the beef? It’s not in Milaca schools
No beef is being served at Milaca Public Schools. After the U.S.
Department of Agriculture (USDA) announced it was investigating a
slaughterhouse, which had violated animal cruelty and food safety laws,
the Minnesota Department of Education went to work isolating schools
that may have received the meat.
Milaca Public Schools has
isolated all beef products, but they do not have any from the
Hallmark/Westland Meat Company, which is being investigated for animal
cruelty. See more in Dawn Slade’s Mille Lacs County Times story.
